Our screens are busy. Toolbars, notifications, tabs, and status bars all compete for a slice of your attention. But writing requires a singular, unbroken thread of thought.
Toolis fights back with Focus Mode.
The Problem with Context
When you draft, you often fall into the trap of editing previous sentences or worrying about the layout of the next paragraph. This context switching—bouncing between "creator" and "editor"—breaks your flow.
Feature 1: Sentence Focus
In its default state, Focus Mode acts like a spotlight. It keeps the sentence you are currently typing in sharp relief while strictly dimming everything else.
- The Benefit: It forces you to move forward. You cannot obsess over what you wrote three paragraphs ago because you can barely see it. Your only option is to write the next word.
Feature 2: Typewriter Scrolling
In standard editors, your cursor slowly drifts to the bottom of the screen as you write, forcing your neck to crane downwards.
Toolis solves this with Typewriter Mode. When active, your cursor remains fixed in the vertical center of the screen. The page moves, you stay still.
The Benefit: Improved posture and reduced eye strain during long sessions.
How to use it
Toggle Focus Mode instantly with a single shortcut: CMD+D / CTRL+D
Use it when you need to hammer out a first draft or when the world feels too loud. Toggle it off when you're ready to polish.
